Day 2 of our Professional Development Program moves participants from observing complexity on Day 1 to leading within it. It equips fellows with practical, repeatable techniques for designing and facilitating deliberation in contested water decisions.

The focus is on understanding and practicing skills to build legitimacy, fairness and trust under real-world constraints.

It provides practical experience in applying both in-person and AI-enabled tools to deliberation and reflection. Participants will test how digital synthesis can clarify patterns and shared ground — and critically examine when human dialogue is essential to trust and legitimacy. The goal is not to replace conversation with technology, but to build leaders’ judgement about how to combine both effectively.

Participants will leave with tangible outputs they can apply immediately.

NB: attendance at Day 1 is not a requirement for Day 2, but is highly recommended.
